John Michael Hanner

John Michael Hanner was born and raised in Atlanta, Texas. He attended Stephen F. Austin University, where he received his Bachelor's degree in Business and Finance. Mike has been back in Atlanta working for Hanner Funeral Service since 1992. Mike has other business interests, including the restaurant industry, but his true passion lies in the funeral business. As the fourth generation of Hanners, Mike grew up surrounded by the love, compassion, and integrity that make the Hanner Funeral Service name.

Mike is an active member of the community. He is a member of the Atlanta Chamber, supports the Lion's Club, and works with local veterans and senior citizens. He believes in staying current and moving forward in the funeral industry and therefore is a member of and supports Selected Independent Funeral Homes, the Texas Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. He is a Christian and an active member of First United Methodist Church in Atlanta. He has a wife, Kerri, and two children, Annemarie Grace and Cole Michael. In Mike's spare time, he enjoys running and working out. He loves spending time behind the grill and hanging out with his family, and is an avid duck and big game hunter.

Laurie Hanning Walker

Laurie Walker was raised in McKinney, Texas. She moved to the Atlanta area in 2002. She is married to Jesse Walker and has two wonderful children, Hannah and Kian. She joined Hanner Funeral Service in 2019. She loves being able to serve families in a time of need. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.

William Allen

Will Allen, also known as "Big," joined Hanner Funeral Service in 1985. Big is a hard worker and always has a smile to offer. He is a loyal employee and enjoys his job. He is married to his wife, Mary, and has two children.

Scott Carter

Scott Allen Carter was born in Texarkana, Arkansas in 1968. In 1976, Scott moved to Texas and spent his Elementary and Junior High School years there. After eight years, Scott returned to Arkansas to complete his High School years at Arkansas High School. Scott earned his diploma, completing his general studies in 1987. From 1987-1989, Scott attended Texarkana Junior College working on an Associate’s Degree. Although Scott knew in his heart, the path for him was to help the community so, in 1990, Scott attended the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services and continued his studies until graduation in 1991.  Scott then began his career as a Funeral Director and Embalmer at Texarkana Funeral Home where he served his community for fifteen years. In 2004, Scott moved to Glenwood, Arkansas to become General Manager of Davis-Smith Funeral Homes in Glenwood and Hot Springs, Arkansas. In 2007, Scott returned to Texas where he began working for Hanner Funeral Service, Atlanta, Texas, as a funeral director and embalmer. In 2010, Scott earned the title of General Manager.

                                                                                           

Scott is a member of Selected Independent Funeral Homes, as a member of Selected Independent, Scott has attended each Selected Management Summit since inception. Scott is also a member of The Atlanta Lion’s Club. Scott and his family are parishioners of Faith Community Church of The Nazarene. 

 

In his spare time, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Misty Carter and his children, Mason, Clayton, Marissa and Devin. Scott also enjoys being a grandfather to his four grandchildren, Kameron, Kyleigh, Tatum and Lailah.

Kerri Hanner

Kerri moved from Dallas to the Atlanta area in 1997 when she married her husband, Mike Hanner. She attended the University of North Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University in Texarkana with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in English and Journalism. She taught for eight years and made the decision to stay home when she had her first child. She enjoys working with Mike on advertising and various projects for the funeral home. She has been married for over 14 years and feels blessed to have one daughter, Annemarie, and one son, Cole Michael. She has been a member of First United Methodist Church for over 15 years and has been involved with the Children's Ministry though teaching Sunday school and directing Children's Choir. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and reading good novels. Her greatest joy is spending time with her family.

Brian Cloninger

Brian Cloninger was born and raised in this area and has lived here all his life. He is a 1995 graduate of Bright Star High School. He earned his Associates of Applied Science in Funeral Service from UAHT in 2020. Brian has a genuine love for all people which shows through the excellent service he provides to all individuals and families he serves at Hanner Funeral Service. In his free time Brian likes to spend time with his family, fishing, and hunting. He and his wife, Shelly, live here in Atlanta. They have seven beautiful children: Dylan, Kalea, Haylee, Audree, Avaree, Mylee, and Briley.

Charles Hale

Charles Hale joined Hanner Funeral Service in November 2018 after retiring from the insurance business in February 2018. He and his wife of 37 years have eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandkids. He loves God and people, especially now with the opportunity to serve others in their greatest time of need. Charles believes that Hanner Funeral Service has the "greatest folks" he has ever worked with.

Mandi Holcomb

Mandi Holcomb was born and raised in Atlanta, Texas. She graduated from Atlanta High School and then

attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas, where she earned her Bachelor of

Business Administration in Accounting. Mandi joined Hanner Funeral Service in 2014. She is married to

Joshua and is the proud mother of two children, Haylie and Hayden. In her spare time, she enjoys

reading and spending time with family.
