Harry Olson, age 75, of Atlanta, Texas, died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at his residence surrounded by family.

Harry was born September 20, 1936 in Grantsbur, Wisconsin. He was retired from the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He worked at Newkirk Feed in Atlanta, Texas for 37 years; trained and owned race horses; was an avid sports fan and was a Lutheran by faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Ann Olson; a daughter, Tina Wooten; grandson Patrick Brent Markham; sister, Frances Orledski; two brothers, Conrad Olson, Morris Olson; and parents, Ollie and Florence Olson.

He is survived by two daughters, Melissa Durmon and husband Wayne of Atlanta, Texas, Tammy Roan and husband Brian Lutes of Texarkana, Texas; three brothers, Clifford Olson of Wisconsin, David Olson of Wisconsin, Dennis Olson of Minnesota; two sisters, Shirley Tourville of Wisconsin, Doris Wilson of Minnesota; six grandchildren, Sabra Alonzo and husband Cruz of Atlanta, Texas, Adreal Durmon of Atlanta, Texas, Danielle McCoskey of Bentonville, Arkansas, Ravin Wooten of Denton, Texas, Karissa Durmon of Atlanta, Texas, Hannah Wooten of Farmersville, Texas; three great-grandchildren, C. J. Alonzo of Atlanta, Texas, Stephanie Alonzo of Atlanta, Texas, Jayden Durmon of Atlanta, Texas; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Thoughts and prayers to all the family and frinds. Seeing the picture reminded me of the many afternoons sitting on the porch telling stories with from years before. He will definitely be missed and is still a scholar and a gentlemen
