Obituary for William "Bill" Powell

William Roswell Powell, age 76, formerly of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 31, 2018, in a Carrolton, Texas hospital.

William was born November 9, 1941, in Atlanta, Texas to Will Ross and Mertie Powell. He was a Methodist by faith and president of an aircraft insurance agency, Powell/Southwest Agency Inc. William enjoyed flying (owning his own plane), and playing golf, golf, and more golf. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy Powell of Plano, Texas; daughter, Christine Lynn Skinner and husband Greg of Dallas, Texas; sister, Jane Ross Agnew and husband Richard of San Antonio, Texas; niece, Lisa Larralde and husband Xavier of San Antonio, Texas; nephew, Len Briley, Jr. and wife Jan of San Antonio, Texas; and a number of great nephews, nieces and other relatives.

Services will 12:00 pm, Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Queen City United Methodist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral service, with Bro. Don Lewis officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the church.

Interment will be in Queen City Cemetery.
