Obituary for Thad K Harrist

Thad K. Harrist, age 89, of Doddridge, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital.

Thad was born March 6, 1929 in Doddridge, Arkansas to Buren and Faustine Harrist. He was retired from Venture Resources; served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II; was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon; Gideon’s International and the Miller Bowie Cattlemen’s Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Harrist two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by a daughter, Karen Nelson and husband Vernon of Doddridge, Arkansas; a sister, Emily Gray Sheridan of Longview, Texas; two grandchildren, Janette Hall Campanilla of Texarkana, Arkansas, Michael Hall of Doddridge, Arkansas; two step-grandchildren, Samantha Nelson, Timothy Nelson; six great-grandchildren, Anthony Zuniga, Selena Campanilla, Angelica Campanilla, Ana Campanilla, Sergio Campanilla, Isabella Campanilla; two great-great-grandchildren, Amelia Zuniga, Avery Zuniga; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Tommy Henderson and Bro. Wayne Gray officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, September 14, 2018 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
