Obituary for Lois "Jean" Jester

Lois Jean Jester, age 87, of Queen City, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 17, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born, February 21, 1930, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to Clyde and Mary Nelms. She was a retired seamstress from Henson Kickernick, loved reading and was a charter member of Tanglewood Missionary Baptist Church, Atlanta, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Johnnie Jester; brother, Paul Nelms; and sister, Evelyn Pickering.

She is survived by her son, John Jester and wife Robbie of Atlanta, Texas; four daughters, Betty Lambert and husband Teal of Queen City, Texas, Faye Currey and husband Kelly of Ashdown, Arkansas, Sandra Jester of Queen City, Texas, Lisa Downs and husband Tim of Atlanta, Texas; two sisters, Pauline Ashton, Mary Catherine McMasters; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

Services will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Tanglewood Missionary Baptist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Bro. Gary McNatt officiating.

Visitation will be 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the church.

Interment will be in O’Farrell Cemetery.
