Obituary for Lester L. Clayton

Lester Clayton age 81, of Atlanta, Texas went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at his residence.

Lester was born April 15, 1936 in Cass County, Texas to William and Lessie Clayton. He was owner/operator of Clayton’s Garage for thirty three years and a member of O’Farrell Baptist Church. He loved gardening, restoring tractors, watching the Dallas Cowboys, squirrel and coon hunting with his dogs and was a founding member of the Cass County Coon Hunter’s Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Maxine Clayton of Atlanta, Texas; sons, Lester Jr Clayton and wife Brenda of Atlanta, Texas, Marc“Tiny”Clayton and wife Amanda of Bloomburg, Texas; five grandchildren, Jena Littlejohn and husband Shon, Brittney Johnston and husband Brian, Jesse Clayton and wife Meghann, Shannon Clayton, Jacqueline Carver; eleven great grandchildren; two special nieces, Sue Davis, Shirley Finlayson; special nephew, Frankie Clayton, and a number of nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, September 15, 2017, at Hanner Funeral Service, with Bro. Gary Terry officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 pm – 8 pm, Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in O’ Farrell Cemetery.
