Obituary for Doris S. Hanson Gearlds

Doris S. Hanson Gearlds, age 77, of Maud, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Monday, November 13, 2017, at her residence.

Doris was born June 1, 1940, in DeQueen, Arkansas, to Jeff and Thelma Williams. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She loved square dancing, cooking, and was known as a friendly “never met a stranger” lady who was affectionately known as “chief”. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Wayne Hanson; a brother, Bo Williams; two sisters, Ruth Stewart, and Lynn Beasley.

She is survived by her husband, Joffree Gearlds of Maud, Texas; four sons, David Hanson and wife Debbie of Douglassville, Texas, Rodney Hanson and wife Andrea of Southside, Alabama, Charles “Chuck” Hanson and wife Jo Ann of Linden, Texas, Mike Hanson of Maud, Texas; three brothers, Buddy Williams and wife Judy of Colorado, Tommy Williams and wife Renae of Colorado, Dean Williams and wife Linda of Avinger, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

Services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, November 17, 2017, at Rock Creek Baptist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Bro. Steve Minter officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 pm, to 8 pm, Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery
