Obituary for Carrie Abernathy Bridges

Carrie Abernathy Bridges, age 97, of Atlanta, Texas went to be with the Lord Friday, March 2, 2018 at Hospice of Texarkana.

Carrie was born June 3, 1920 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Jerry and Ila Lineberger Abernathy. She was retired Elementary School Teacher from Queen City I.S.D.; a member of First Baptist Church, Queen City; and the Eastern Cass County School Retirees Association. She enjoyed spending time with her friends playing Dominoes and Hand and Foot. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bridges; grandson-in-law, Heath Power; sister, Idell Hall; and four brothers, Royal Abernathy, Bob Abernathy, Paul Abernathy and Charles Abernathy.

She is survived by her son, Frankie Bridges and wife Carolyn of Texarkana, Texas; daughter, Cathy Wood and husband J.C. of Searcy, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Robin Bridges, Shelley Power, Ryan Wood, Jeff Wood and wife Phoebe, Haley Williams and husband Adam; two great-grandchildren, Charlie Wood, Samson Wood; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jim Looby officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be at the Linden Cemetery.
