Obituary for Annette Gleboff

Annette Granberry Gleboff, age 88, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.

Annie was born February 20, 1929 in Douglassville, Texas to Silas Joshua and Nettie Blanche (Carlow) Granberry. Annie was a member of First United Methodist Church, Dallas; and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Atlanta, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kellogg Gleboff; her brother, Morriss Oliver Granberry; and her parents.

Annie worked for thirty years as a volunteer in the post-surgery family room at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, providing care and kindness to thousands of people she had never met in their times of greatest stress, need, and fear. She fed water, Gatorade, and calming advice to a generation of junior golfers. She loved all dogs, and some deserving cats.

Annie is survived by two sons, Kenneth K. Gleboff, Jr., Stephen G. Gleboff and his wife Dee; two grandchildren, Andrew Moseley Gleboff and Sarah Griffin Gleboff; and a number of other relatives.

Annie will be laid to rest next to Ken in the Douglassville Cemetery. A memorial service is being planned for later in the week in Dallas.

Annie’s family offers their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Silverado Care in Dallas for the care and compassion they showed Annie for the past seven years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the SPCA of Texas or the dementia research charity of your choice.
